The Multi-Year Funding Programme is designed to provide stable, long-term financial support to creative and cultural organisations in Scotland, covering core costs and programmes of work from April 2025 to March 2028.
It enables organisations to deliver work that contributes to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of people living in Scotland, and that reflects Creative Scotland’s strategic objectives and purpose.
The Multi-Year Funding Programme responds to the clear recommendation of the comprehensive funding review conducted in 2019/20: to create the conditions for as many cultural organisations as possible to benefit from sustainable, multi-year funding.
In 2022/23, the programme was developed and launched to achieve this objective. Its delivery was delayed due to the necessary focus on delivering emergency funding in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Replacing several routes to year-on-year funding, including Regular Funding, and elements of Open Funding and Targeted Funding routes, the Multi-Year Fund establishes a single fund with a unified application process, consistent criteria, and a common approach to relationship management for cultural and creative organisations.
