The Time to Shine strategy represented a significant step forward in our collective efforts to engage children and young people in the arts.

This report, developed by there is an alternative//tialt, builds on the insights and lessons learned from the implementation of Time to Shine, and aims to provide actionable recommendations for three key stakeholder groups: children and young people, policy makers and funders, and artists and arts organisations.

Each section is tailored to address the unique roles and responsibilities of these groups, offering practical insights and strategic refections to support their contributions to the youth arts sector.

This report is designed to be a comprehensive resource for stakeholders invested in the future of youth arts engagement. It is accompanied by five case studies, which explore just some of the projects and activities delivered through the strategy. The case studies were created by Lateral North, and feature Clifftop Projects, Sensatronic Labs, Room 13, Khadea Santi, and Bold Collective.
