Becky Sikasa, EYVE, Leahgte, Pweatpants, SLIX, Brògeal among the nominees.
The Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMA) returns for its 15th edition and is excited to announce the 2024 group of nominees. The list of 28 acts showcases Scotland’s boldest talents across alternative genres from hip hop to metal, electronic and more.
This year’s nominated acts were decided by 21 music industry professionals from leading organisations such as DF Concerts, The Skinny, Snack Mag, Triple G Music, UP2STNDRD, PITCH Scotland and more.
A 3-day public vote will open on Monday 18 November to determine the winners, with the exclusive announcement taking place on Saturday 30 November at St Luke’s & Winged Ox which will be hosted by BBC Introducing’s Phoebe Inglis-Holmes and poet Leyla Josephine.
Performances will come from Glasgow hip hop artist and former SAMA winner GASP who is known for his raw lyricism and compelling stage presence. Performing alongside him is producer, DJ and disability activist Supermann on da Beat. Also joining the bill is Parliamo, a dynamic Scottish band known for their infectious blend of indie rock and sharp, socially observant lyrics. Hailing from Perth, they fuse energetic grooves with a raw, unfiltered sound that captures the spirit of Scotland’s alternative music scene. Parliamo’s music is a mix of gritty storytelling and catchy hooks, making them a standout act and one to watch on the Scottish indie circuit.
