Fund to help strengthen Scotland’s Creative Industries opens for applications

Funding guidance published and online application portal opens:  2pm, Thursday 11 January 2024

Closing date for applications: 2pm, Thursday 1 February 2024

Scottish creative individuals and businesses are invited to apply to the Go See Share fund for small grants designed to increase their own and the sector’s financial sustainability.

Supported by The National Lottery through Creative Scotland, individual funding awards of between £3,000 and £10,000 are available to help develop best practise business knowledge and to share this with others.  The scheme enables creatives to explore and share new ways to expand their business activity and make them more financially sustainable by connecting with and learning from international creative business models.

Previous Go See Share recipients include:

  • Artist Beth Shapeero who conducted a series of in-person and online meetings with artists, curators and gallery owners to explore selling opportunities for artists and how to access them.
  • Scottish Traditional and Folk Music business, The Bothy Society whose funding helped cover costs to attend networking opportunities at The Great Escape music convention, and the BPI LA Sync Mission to research best practices and develop new contacts with a view to generating new sources of income for the traditional music sector.

Creative Industries Officer at Creative ScotlandJessica Bonehill said: “One of the most powerful ways of learning is directly from our peers which is what Go See Share offers.  Thanks to National Lottery players, we're able to offer this opportunity to a brand-new cohort in 2024.  We’re interested in supporting creative and cultural businesses to achieve economic and environmental sustainability, and we’re keen to back projects that are clearly considering their environmental impact.”

Full details of the fund including how to apply can be found on the Creative Scotland website.
