Creative Scotland seeks new Head of Visual Arts

Creative Scotland is seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Visual Arts to lead its visual arts work across Scotland, the UK and internationally.  Applications for the post close at 5pm on Monday, 18th December 2023.

A critical role in the strategic support and development of visual arts in Scotland, this important and rare opportunity requires someone with visual arts leadership experience and a deep understanding of practise, diversity and the needs of artists.

The vacancy has become available as Amanda Catto steps down from the role after 33 years at the public body that supports the arts, screen, and creative industries; as a development organisation, a funder and an advocate working across Scotland and internationally.

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of working in visual arts at a senior and strategic level, with a track record of successful project and partnership management. Our ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in visual arts internationally and professional influence that will help Creative Scotland in its ambition to unlock new opportunities for artists in local communities and on a national and international level, drawing on Scotland’s enormous cultural strengthsThe post offers a starting salary £44,031 pa plus pension and benefits.
