Biography

Norman Villeroux is the bassist in Azamiah, a Glasgow-based nu-jazz band who have been nestled within the city’s dynamic music scene since 2020. The band seeks to bring listeners a healing experience through their work, taking them on a journey through moody and light landscapes. Heavily groove based, Azamiah take inspiration from the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote and SAULT.

Debut album In Phases was released June 2023 on Rebecca’s Records and its popularity has grown steadily since. The band has played on stages across the UK and Europe, including at Latitude Festival, Brick Lane Jazz Festival, JAZZMI Festival and North Sea Round Town.

With their second release, Two Lands, set for May 2025, Azamiah continue to develop, exploring new soundscapes and sonic worlds.
