Biography

Marco Cafolla is a founding member of 2024 jazzahead! showcasing act Mama Terra. Since having their debut album The Summoned longlisted for the SAY Award in 2024, Mama Terra have been featured as one of the Top 25 Artists to Watch in 2025 on BBC Radio Scotland's Vic Galloway show.

The jazz/soul ensemble born from the minds of Marco Cafolla and Konrad Wiszniewski draws from an inner journey of discovery, making spiritual, roots-based music of a piece with John and Alice Coltrane, Nina Simone, McCoy Tyner and Miles Davis, while nodding to contemporary acts such as Kamasi Washington, Erykah Badu and Robert Glasper. 

New album Chameleons - Live Interpretations of Herbie Hancock was recorded live at Glasgow Jazz Festival and is out now on Acid Jazz Records.
